About Jessica

Jessica

I have always loved helping others in any way I can. You could say I’m a social butterfly, this was a driving factor in my career choice. My first job in the medical field was with Lincare. It was the one on one interaction with patients that brought a new found love for medicine and inspired me to further pursue my career in the medical field.

I received my Phlebotomy certification through Wilkes Community College in the early 2000’s. I started my new journey at Prime Medical Healthcare in Boone, NC. I worked as a Medical Office Assistant/Phlebotomist to Dr. Nicholas Placentra for 7 years. I am so grateful for all the knowledge and kindness shared with me. I loved my work family but really wanted to work closer to home.

I then started a new path at Mount Jefferson Family Medicine as Lab Director/MOA. Here I truly had an opportunity to grow. I was needed by my patients and what started as “a job” grew into a passion. Once I saw what an impact I could have on a patient’s life, I knew I truly found my calling. I wanted to be there for my patient’s and educate them on healthy lifestyle changes. Unfortunately in the fast paced world of medicine my time was very limited with patient’s.

It wasn’t until I found my new work family at Elevation Health that I realized I shared my love for helping others with Heather, and Maggi. I hope to further this passion for health care. I feel like I have come so far and I’m so excited for what the future holds!

Jessica lives with her son John Dillan, their dogs Maggie and Gracie, and cat Jasper in the lovely community of Warrensville.

She loves spending time with her family, working outside, hiking the mountains and floating the New River.
